A disturbing incident from Uttar Pradesh’s Etawah district has left a family shattered and an entire village stunned. In the Usrahar police station area, a woman from Puranpura village reportedly ran away with her husband’s paternal uncle, taking her two daughters with her and leaving behind only her son.
Jitendra Kumar, a taxi driver, had gone to Kanpur on April 3. Upon returning home, he found his wife and daughters missing. The shock deepened when the family realized that the woman had left with Nandram, Jitendra’s uncle. Only their young son was left behind in the house.
The couple had been married since 2014 and had three children. Initially, the family tried to locate the woman and the children on their own, but after weeks of no progress, they approached the police. A missing person’s report was filed at Usrahar police station. However, after a month without any breakthrough, Jitendra and his father, Shyam Kishore, announced a reward of 20,000 rupees for anyone who could help trace them.
Jitendra said that Nandram frequently visited their home and was considered a respected elder in the family. “How this happened, I still cannot understand,” he said. “No one is listening to me.”
His father, heartbroken, pleaded, “Even if she doesn’t want to return, at least send the children back. This has become a matter of our family’s honor.”
The incident has sparked gossip across the village and raised painful questions about trust, family values, and the fragility of relationships.
