Just when we were apprehensive about the prospects of Tiger Shroff’s portrayal of Ganpati, another piece of news has left us concerned about the future of Rohit Shetty’s cop universe, of which Tiger Shroff is now a part.
Recently, Rohit Shetty unveiled a series of posters to introduce another addition to his cop universe, ACP Satya, played by Tiger Shroff. The first question that comes to mind is “Why?” It appears as though other actors in the industry are either on a hiatus or engaged in protests, leaving no choice but to cast Tiger in this role. The posters featuring Tiger don’t seem to convey a clear message; he is seen posing in front of fireworks as if he just walked off the set of a Baaghi film. In another poster, he appears to be doing a ramp walk, reminiscent of his role in Student of the Year 2.
Just a few days ago, Rohit Shetty released posters of Deepika as another cop character named Shakti Shetty, which looked far more convincing. Those posters showcased a character with depth, highlighting Deepika’s unhinged avatar, rather than merely glamourizing her. In contrast, these new posters featuring Tiger Shroff in the cop universe seem like poorly edited fan art created by an overenthusiastic Tiger Shroff fan who desperately wishes to see him as a cop.
If the intention behind this move is to garner global attention by adding another famous star to the franchise, it’s a bold strategy. However, it appears to show a lack of respect for the craft, as these posters come across as subpar and do not do justice to the universe Rohit Shetty has built.
