Students should be safe in their institutions, and teachers or “Gurus” in our puranas are considered the same as parents.
But, what is happening in today’s world is absolutely ruthless.
Ragging is a thing we all know and we all oppose. Recently in Jadavpur University a student attempted suicide (or murdered still not clear) due to ragging.
But that was because of some unkind seniors who considered themselves gods.
But a similar case happened with a student named Anoop Singh Bagri, a 2nd year ortho student, in BJ Medical College and Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad.
A student attempted suicide due to a constant harassment by one of his teacher DR. Bhavesh Namshah.
The teacher constantly harassed him and took unlawful advantages of his, which isn’t a duty of a student.
He used to force juniors to write negative letters against him so that he could escape from the situation, and whenever he tried to raise his voice the teacher threatened him that he will see him in the thesis or he won’t give him any chance in surgery.
Unable to take all this pressure this young life too took his life with his own hands, he wrote in the twitter, “and i am committing suicide because i am not able to handle this mental burden anymore from his side. Please make sure that no other student under him has to go through the same as me”.
With what assurance now parents will send their kids away from home to study. And if we see the foreign land chart then it’s more than clear that Indian students are dying.
Teacher and Student there is a line one should never cross, and with these kinds of teachers all over the institutions, god knows how many lives are yet to be sacrificed.
