Deepak Chahar has shared a rare story of MS Dhoni losing his temper on the field. He spoke about it during his Big Boss appearance when he went to meet his sister Malti. He said this was the only time Dhoni got angry with him.
The match that triggered the moment
The incident took place during CSK’s IPL 2019 match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. CSK had set a target of 160 after Sarfaraz Khan scored 67 off 59 balls.
Chahar gets a new role
Chahar, who usually bowled with the new ball, was given death overs for the first time. The team planned to bowl slower balls to Sarfaraz and force mistakes.
Two no balls and rising pressure
Chahar tried a leg cutter but slipped, turning the ball into a waist high full toss. Sarfaraz hit it for four and it was declared a no ball. Chahar tried the same delivery again and bowled another no ball. Eight runs came without a legal ball.
