The India vs Pakistan rivalry has once again spilled beyond the cricket field. This time, the exchange involved former players, with fans closely tracking every reaction and statement.
Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh strongly responded to a controversial remark made by former Pakistan cricketer Tanvir Ahmed. His reply quickly grabbed attention on social media.
The issue began after a video from the ILT20 tournament went viral. In the clip, Harbhajan Singh was seen interviewing Pakistan bowler Usman Tariq following his strong performance in the match.
Reacting to the video, Tanvir Ahmed commented that Harbhajan “roams around Pakistani cricketers.” The remark spread rapidly online and triggered mixed reactions from fans.
Harbhajan Singh did not hold back in his response. Speaking on his YouTube channel, he called Tanvir a “tuchha insaan,” which translates to a petty person, and questioned his stature in international cricket.
Harbhajan said Tanvir has played only a few matches but speaks like a legend. He compared his attitude to greats like Imran Khan, Wasim Akram, and Waqar Younis, and openly criticised him.
He further clarified that he was only doing his job as a broadcaster. Harbhajan explained that interviewing players, especially the Man of the Match, is part of his professional responsibility.
Harbhajan added that avoiding such interviews would lead to unnecessary controversy. He made it clear there was nothing wrong with doing his duty without bias.
Meanwhile, former Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir also made headlines. He criticised India batter Abhishek Sharma, calling him “just a slogger” and questioning his technique.
Amir said Abhishek plays risky cricket and may fail often. However, he admitted that the batter can be dangerous if he settles at the crease.
These remarks highlight how intense the India Pakistan rivalry remains, even off the field. With India dominating Pakistan in T20 World Cup history, such comments only add more drama and fan interest.
