ODI: Can India Bounce Back After T20I Disaster?

India vs England first ODI

The India vs England ODI series begins on July 14 with the opening match at Edgbaston, Birmingham. After losing the T20I series, India will aim to make a strong start in the 50-over format.

A major boost for India is the return of Virat Kohli, who missed the ODI series against Afghanistan due to a hamstring injury. The former India captain last played an international match in January and is now fit for the England tour.

Jasprit Bumrah has also returned to the ODI squad after a long absence. The star fast bowler has not played an ODI since the 2023 World Cup final because of injury. His comeback strengthens India’s pace attack.

England will be led by Harry Brook, while Shubman Gill will captain India in the three-match ODI series. Shreyas Iyer has been appointed as the vice-captain.
