IND vs NAM: Bumrah Yorker Puts SRH Star in Trouble

Ishan Kishan hit by Bumrah yorker

Team India faced a minor injury concern ahead of the Namibia clash. Ishan Kishan was struck on the knee by a sharp delivery from Jasprit Bumrah during a net session on Wednesday.

The incident took place during an intense practice. Bumrah bowled a quick yorker that hit Kishan on his knee. The impact forced the left hander to stop batting immediately.

Kishan went down in pain and remained on the ground briefly. The support staff rushed in to assess him. Teammates watched closely as physios checked the injury.

After treatment, Ishan Kishan stood up and chose to bat again. He faced a few more deliveries to test his fitness. Soon after, he decided to end the session and walked off.

There is no official update on the severity of the knock. The team management is expected to monitor him closely. A final call on his availability will be taken before the Namibia match.

India are already dealing with another fitness concern. Opener Abhishek Sharma was discharged from hospital on Wednesday after treatment for viral fever and a stomach infection.

He was dismissed for a golden duck against USA. He did not return to the field later in the match. Reports suggest he was unwell even before the game began.

Speaking at the pre match press conference, Tilak Varma said Abhishek is feeling better after discharge. He added that the team has one more day to assess his condition.

Tilak also confirmed that Jasprit Bumrah is fully fit and available for Thursday’s match against Namibia after missing the opening game.
