Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan has come forward to reveal the conversation between GT coach Ashish Nehra and English star player Jos Buttler regarding the latter’s availability for IPL 2026.

Irfan said that he had asked Nehra about Buttler’s lack of form in the T20 World Cup and how the franchise was looking to manage him in order to get the best out of the white-ball legend.

Responding to this, Nehra had said that they are very well aware of the kind of player Buttler is, and hence are going to put no undue pressure on him to come early or practice more with the team.

Nehra told Buttler that since GT were going to play their first game against PBKS on 31st March, there was no need for Buttler to come before the 28th of the same month. Everyone knows the capabilities Buttler has, and a few extra days of practice are not going to give some game-changing result anyway.

But maintaining a good dressing room environment will surely work to the benefit of both Buttler and the whole squad. If he knows that the franchise has his back no matter what, he will be even more motivated to perform with full potential, and if all goes well, regain his form to take back the throne of being a white-ball mammoth.

With the day of the battle finally here, people are excited to see if Nehra’s strategy will do some actual good in helping Buttler get back on his feet against PBKS as both giants get ready to lock horns in Mohali.
