Axar Out? RCB All Rounder In Big T20 Call Loading?

Krunal Pandya India T20I comeback Axar Patel Struggle

Krunal Pandya could be back in the discussion for India’s T20I squad after Axar Patel’s recent performances raised questions over the team’s left arm spin options.

According to a report’s, Krunal is one of the players being considered by the Indian team management.

The RCB all rounder has not played a T20I for India since the 2021 series against Sri Lanka. Despite, his recent IPL performances have kept his name in contention.

Krunal Pandya had a strong IPL 2026 campaign, taking 14 wickets for Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Axar has been the more productive batter over the last five IPL seasons. Between 2022 and 2026.

But Krunal has taken more wickets during the same period. He finished with 56 wickets, while Axar took 44.

That makes the selection debate interesting. India already know what Axar can offer after more than 100 T20Is. Krunal, meanwhile, brings a different option after improving his bowling returns in recent IPL seasons.

But is that enough for an India comeback? Krunal’s international numbers remain behind Axar.

Axar Patel has played far more international cricket and has represented India in all three formats.

Krunal has played 19 T20Is and scored 124 runs, while Axar has 465 T20I runs from 68 matches.

Krunal’s last T20I came more than four years ago, so his selection would be a major call. For now, there is no confirmation that Krunal has been selected.

But with Axar struggling to make a strong impact in recent T20I assignments, has Krunal Pandya finally done enough to get another chance with India?
