Today’s game between KKR and MI turned out to be an absolute nail-biter, with both teams fighting tooth and nail up until the very end. The Mumbai Indians turned out to be victorious in the end, winning the game by 6 wickets.
The first innings saw an explosive KKR batting lineup, with skipper Ajinkya Rahane stepping up to take the responsibility himself, scoring a whopping 67 runs in 40 balls. Angkrish Raghuvanshi showed his brilliant firepower as well, putting 51 runs on the board with a strike rate of almost 176.
Finn Allen’s explosive knock of 37 runs in just 17 balls was a treat to watch. The Kiwi batter did his part and was subbed out for Kartik Tyagi.
Coming to the second innings, the Mumbai Indians got an absolutely dreamy and explosive start, with both Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton proving why they are the best at their jobs.
Rohit smashed 78 runs in just 38 balls, while Ryan made sure to tag along, scoring 81 runs with a stroke rate of 188. Surya, Hardik and Tilak gave the required boost at the end, and Mumbai saw themselves chasing the target in a pretty comfortable manner.
KKR’s poor bowling was evident throughout the 2nd innings, with all of their bowlers having an economy of 10 or higher. Coming to MI’s bowling, Shardul Thakur emerged as the showstopper, taking 3 wickets while conceding 39 runs.
The MI camp would be happy today, considering they have won their first IPL game of the season after 14 years. With the unit looking as strong as ever, they are sure to gear up for the next game against DC without wasting much time on the celebrations.
