The BCCI had called for applications for the head coach of the Indian men’s team position and there was as many as 3000 applications for the same. Inciedntally, the most significant application has come from Gautam Gambhir.
According to a few reports coming from a reliable source from the Kolkata camp, Gambhir is nearly confirmed to be the head coach of the Indian cricket team.
Gambhir’s appointment as the head coach of the India team is being seen as a mere ‘formality’ it seems. The only thing due now is the official announcement, say reports.
Well, everyone got to see the kind of monster team that Gambhir built with KKR which won the IPL this year without any hassle. This is by far the strongest team of this year’s IPL and the way they played is next to none.
Gambhir’s no-nonsense approach and champion mentality is exactly what India needs at the moment. The vibe within the team has been rather subdued of late with no real hunger.
