RCB created history in the 2025 season of IPL by winning the trophy for the first time in their 18 years of existence. This was madly celebrated by their fans and followers across the globe.
However, there was this one extremely unfortunate stampede incident that happened outside the RCB Stadium in Bengaluru, which claimed 11 lives. This became a huge controversy, and there was a lot of negativity happening around RCB.
In this context, the latest developments on social media have been suggesting that RCB could be held responsible for this incident and they could even be banned for a year.
Well, the authenticity of this speculation remains unknown. But the very fact that a top team like RCB could be banned from the tournament for a year as an attention grabbing point in itself.
At a fundamental level, RCB is one of the most followed teams in the IPL, and if anything they have the highest view and supporting group on social media. So it might not be an easy or straightforward task to ban a revenue generating team like this.
But at the same time, a mega team like CSK itself was banned from the tournament, albeit for a different cause back in 2017. So, IPL is most stranger to this phenomena either.
For now, we have to patiently wait and see how this episode turns out as there is a lot of external factors that could also come to play in the same.
