Suryakumar Yadav has opened up about his return to Team India after losing his place in the Indian T20I team.
The former India T20I captain said he is putting in all the hard work and doing everything possible to earn another opportunity.
Suryakumar was asked about his plans for a comeback while speaking as the brand ambassador of the Pro Govinda League.
Look, I’m putting in all the hard work and doing everything I can. If things go well, then everything will fall into place, Suryakumar said.
Suryakumar was a key part of India’s T20I setup and also led Team India during the 2026 T20 World Cup.
However, he has now been dropped from the Indian T20I team. His batting form has been one of the major concerns. The 35 year old has struggled for consistency and also had a difficult IPL campaign this year.
The selectors are also looking towards the next T20 World Cup cycle. With the next global tournament still some time away, India have the opportunity to look at other players and build the T20I squad for the future.
Despite losing his place, Suryakumar is still working towards a return to Team India.
He remains an important player for Mumbai Indians and will need strong performances to put himself back into India’s plans.
Suryakumar last played for India in Test and ODI cricket in 2023. His international career since then has been focused mainly on T20 cricket.
Now, the biggest question is whether the former India T20I captain can force his way back into the Indian team.
