With the completion of the Indian Premier League, the focus has shifted to the T20 World Cup which is around the corner now. The tournament will be commencing on the 5th of June for India as the team faces Ireland.

Coming to the actual prospects of the team, there isn’t too much promise here as the big names of Indian cricket are rather stuttering.

Rohit Sharma has been very inconsistent. Virat Kohli piled up the runs but at a stagnated rate which could have lethal consequences when coming up against Australia, England, and other attacking teams. Surya Kumar Yadav has been very inconsistent as well and so has Hardik Pandya.

Bumrah is the only 100% player in the Indian cricket team for the World Cup and the onus will be almost entirely on him to lead the Indian bowling unit.

With all the big guns heavily underperforming in the IPL, it has to be seen where the team will head in the world cup. But given Rohit’s unreal hunger for ICC trophy, it has to be seen if he can orchestrate a winning campaign for the side this time around.
