Following the commercial success of Good Bad Ugly, Ajith Kumar took a short break and has now returned to business with the film Daredevil under the direction of Adhik Ravichandran.
Recently, the makers of the film officially announced this project. According to reports, Adhik Ravichandran has already started the pre-production work for this film and shooting is expected to begin soon.
While earlier there were strong speculations that the Daredevil team was trying to cast Malayalam superstar Mohanlal in a crucial role, it now seems like it didn’t work out.

According to fresh reports, Mohanlal has opted out of the project due to remuneration issues. Consequently, the makers of Daredevil have now cast actor Unni Mukundan as a replacement for Mohanlal.
Furthermore, there is also information that Adhik Ravichandran is planning to cast Kannada actors Sudeep and Upendra in important roles.
In response to this speculation, some people on social media are trolling Unni Mukundan’s casting as a major downgrade. They feel that if Mohanlal had acted alongside Ajith Kumar, Daredevil would have become one of the most anticipated projects in South Indian cinema.
They claim Unni Mukundan is not as big a star as Mohanlal; hence, fans feel that the makers of Daredevil have made a blunder and should have retained Mohanlal at any cost.
Meanwhile, some Ajith Kumar fans fear that Daredevil might end up as another Valimai or Vidaamuyarchi. Because Ajith Kumar has been on and off over the last few years due to his racing events, they worry that the release of Daredevil might be delayed, similar to Vidaamuyarchi and Valimai, which took almost 2–3 years to release.
Ultimately, all of these are just social media speculations and there are still no official updates on the cast and crew of Daredevil. Hence, it remains to be seen whether Unni Mukundan will replace Mohanlal in Daredevil and how the film will take shape.
