Recently, a strong speculation went viral on social media that director Shankar was planning to collaborate with Ajith Kumar for a commercial entertainer. However, it now seems the project didn’t take off due to certain circumstances.
According to reports, due to the back to back failures of Game Changer and Indian 2, director Shankar was planning to do a commercial entertainer before starting his dream project, Velpari, to re-establish his goodwill.
Consequently, the director approached Ajith Kumar, but unfortunately, the project didn’t take off. Recent reports suggest that Ajith Kumar feels Shankar always strives for perfection in his films and considering the physical stress involved for the film, he was not willing to work on this project. Therefore, the director is now searching for a hero to work on his commercial entertainer.
In response to this speculation, some people feel that Ajith Kumar has missed a solid opportunity. They note that despite the failures, Shankar has a huge pan-Indian reach and if Ajith Kumar had worked with him, it would have helped him elevate to the next level.
However, they feel Ajith Kumar is not coming out of his comfort zone and it seems like he rejected the project solely because it requires a lot of physical and mental effort.
On the other hand, others claim that Ajith Kumar just avoided this project without proper reasons. They feel that due to the terrible failures of Shankar’s last few films, no Kollywood actors are interested in collaborating with the director and it was evident with this update. Hence, they feel that just to escape from acting in Shankar’s film, Ajith Kumar provided fake reasons.
Ultimately, there are still no official updates on this and it remains to be seen who will act in Shankar’s quick commercial entertainer and how the project will take shape in the future.
