Following the terrible failure of Kara, Dhanush is now starring as the lead in a spy action thriller Om directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy and it is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on October 16th.
After Om, Dhanush also has a commercial entertainer with Tamizharasan Pachamuthu, a historical film with Mari Selvaraj and Tamizh Murugan with Vetrimaaran in his lineup.
Meanwhile, since director Shankar attended the Pooja ceremony of Dhanush’s Om, there has been strong speculation that Dhanush might work with Shankar in the future, which is why the director attended the event. Also, some sources suggested that Shankar is planning to cast Dhanush in his dream project Velpari and because of it, Shankar is now traveling with Dhanush.
However, fresh reports suggest that Shankar recently pitched a one-line idea to Dhanush, but the project didn’t move forward. Reportedly, the reasons are said to be either Dhanush’s packed lineup of commitments or that the pitch failed to impress him.
In response to these recent speculations, while some people feel that it is good news for Dhanush fans, suggesting Shankar has now become outdated and a collaboration in this situation would end up as a huge setback for the actor, others feel it is a costly miss for him.
They suggest that although Shankar’s last two films ended up as terrible disasters, he is still a solid commercial director whose movies command Pan-Indian attention. Also, because of the recent failures, he is determined to make a comeback. Therefore, they claim that Dhanush has missed a massive opportunity to emerge as a Pan-Indian actor.
Ultimately, all these are just social media speculations and there are still no official updates on this. It remains to be seen whether Shankar and Dhanush will collaborate in the future or if this dream combo will never cross paths.
