The Malayalam film industry is on a roll right now and Mammootty is undoubtedly a name that is forever itched with Mollywood.
But given the current scenario, things are not looking good for the Malayalam star.

His recent release Bazooka has been underwhelming and disastrous at the box office despite having huge star power and initial expectations.
Since its 10th April release, the film has been struggling to collect around 12 crores and is looking like a huge loss for the makers.

On the other hand, another Malayalam film Alapuzzha Gymkhana is winning hearts at the box office despite being a low-budget film.
The sports film starring Naslen K. Gafoor also released on April 10th and has collected 16-17 crores which is decent given its budget of 12 crores.

As for Bazooka, it has garnered several negative reviews since its release which is a huge loss for the makers and Mammootty.
While his film continues to struggle against the youth-based sports film, it is indeed a tough time for Malayalam star Mammootty. Only time will tell how he will make a comeback after having a rough patch at the box office.
