Ajith Kumar’s most anticipated Good Bad Ugly (GBU), directed by Adhik Ravichandran, is slated for a grand worldwide theatrical release on April 10th. From today at 8.02 pm, Pre-bookings for the movie in Tamil Nadu will commence today at 8:02 PM.
According to trade experts, Ajith Kumar’s highest-grossing movie in Kerala is Aarambam, released in the year 2013, which has collected around 5.7 crores in the state.
From Aarambam till Vivegam, Ajith Kumar’s movies have earned around 5 crores on average in the state, but after Viswasam, his market in Kerala has declined, and his last movie, Vidaamuyarchi, has collected only around 3.45 crores.
In terms of comparing Ajith Kumar’s box office collections with Vijay in Kerala, Vijay is miles ahead, as Vijay’s Leo has collected around 60 crores in the state and proved that non-Malayalam films also have a strong market in the state.
Nevertheless, GBU has huge expectations amongst the audiences, and many trade experts were predicting that GBU has a huge opportunity to become the highest-grossing movie for Ajith Kumar, and Sree Gokulam Movies, a leading Kerala distribution house, is going to release the movie in Kerala.
So it’s expected that GBU may open up a new market for Ajith Kumar in Kerala; at the same time, three most anticipated Malayalam movies, such as Basil Joseph’s Marana Mass, Mammootty’s Bazooka, and Naslen’s Alappuzha Gymkhana, are also releasing on April 10th.
It will be interesting to see how GBU is going to perform in the Kerala box office collections, and it remains to be seen whether GBU emerges as a blockbuster success in Kerala despite clashing with the three anticipated Malayalam movies on April 10th.
