Hrithik Roshan and NTR’s War 2, directed by Ayan Mukerji, and Rajinikanth’s Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, are all set for a worldwide theatrical clash on August 14th.

Both movies are going to be released in both 2D and IMAX 2D formats. Earlier, there was a strong buzz that the War 2 team had almost locked all 33 IMAX screens in India, and the Coolie team was struggling to get IMAX screens and most probably it wouldn’t be released in IMAX format in India.
However, yesterday, the Coolie team released Aamir Khan’s character reveal poster, in which they mentioned that Coolie is releasing on IMAX screens on August 14th.

Following the Coolie team’s update that it’s going to be released in IMAX screens, many trade experts responded that it’s going to be a tough competition between the Coolie and War 2 teams to lock the IMAX screens, and the clash is going to get ugly, especially concerning sharing the screen counts.
Additionally, there is also information that the Coolie team is negotiating with the War 2 team for at least 12 screens in India, but the War 2 team is in no mood for negotiations.

It seems like the clash is going to get intense in the following days regarding screen distribution, as both movies are equally strong with huge expectations.
It remains to be seen whether the Coolie team manages to release in IMAX format in India on August 14th and whether it manages to acquire some IMAX screens in the following days.
