Dominic and the Ladies' Purse Review

Dominic and the Ladies’ Purse was Gautham Vasudev Menon’s debut movie in the Malayalam film industry, and he completed it in a remarkably short time, a feat he had never achieved with his previous films.

After watching the movie, many people commented that, although Gautham Vasudev Menon is a Tamil director, he did not compromise the Malayalam film flavor, and the crime investigation scenes were executed effectively.

Furthermore, despite having a superstar like Mammootty in the film, GVM refrained from creating unnecessary mass scenes for the actor and delivered a gripping investigative thriller.

While largely met with positive responses, a few people on social media commented that despite the gripping story, the screenplay had minor issues and felt slightly sluggish in the second half of the film.

So far, everyone who’s seen the movie has liked it, even though it has a few minor issues.

GVM did a good job with Mammootty in his first Malayalam movie, but it’s not as good as his best work. Mammootty was excellent, as usual, but the movie by Gautham Vasudev Menon lacked excitement at times.

Overall, it’s a decent thriller with an interesting twist at the end. It feels like a typical Malayalam crime movie, and you don’t really see GVM’s unique style in it.
