The highly anticipated Thug Life, starring Kamal Haasan, Silambarasan TR, and Trisha in the lead roles and directed by Mani Ratnam, was released in theaters on June 5th and has received disastrous responses from audiences.
Due to poor reviews, Thug Life has almost crashed at the box office. According to box office analysts, as of now, Thug Life has only collected around 38 crores in India.

Even though the Thug Life team conducted massive promotions for the movie, it began its theatrical run with a decent opening. However, due to disastrous responses, many people are not showing interest in watching it in theaters.
According to trade experts, despite the stellar star cast and poor reviews, it’s expected that Thug Life will end its theatrical run earning below Indian 2 in box office collections. As of now, it has collected only around 65 crores worldwide.

Indian 2 also ended its theatrical run as a disaster, but it had a solid opening, and its first-week collection was almost double the amount of what, now, Thug Life collected in its first week.
It appears Thug Life is heading towards being the biggest disaster of all time for Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam. Let’s hope Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan will make a solid comeback from this disaster with their upcoming projects.
