Thug Life, starring Kamal Haasan, Silambarasan TR, and Trisha in the lead roles and directed by Mani Ratnam, is gearing up for a worldwide theatrical release on June 5th.
Recently, the audio launch function of Thug Life took place in Chennai. During Kamal Haasan’s speech, while he interacts with Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar.
Kamal Haasan stated that Kannada was “born in Tamil,” which is why he began his speech by saying “Uyire, Uravey, Tamizhey.” This statement has since gone viral and sparked a heated debate on social media.
Following this, some Kannada people on social media began responding that Kamal Haasan is factually incorrect and spreading misinformation.
They suggest that Kannada was not born in Tamil but was influenced by Sanskrit, and they commented that Kamal Haasan should not delve into subjects he knows little about.
Conversely, some people are commenting that what Kamal Haasan mentioned is correct, citing Tamil as a very old language from which Kannada may have originated.
Nevertheless, Kamal Haasan’s speech is now all over social media, with many people sharing their views on it.
