Following the back to back failures of Vilayath Buddha and I Nobody, actor Prithviraj is all set to return with his next film Khalifa directed by Vysakh, which is gearing up for a worldwide theatrical release on August 20th as an Onam special.
Even though Prithviraj has emerged as a huge Pan-Indian actor by doing supporting roles in Pan-Indian biggies and has also been part of SS Rajamouli‘s most anticipated film Varanaasi, he is struggling to deliver a solo hit and is on the verge of losing his market.
Now, because of the terrible failures of his last few films, Khalifa is the only hope for the actor to restore his market. However, it is also struggling with low hype. Recently, the makers of Khalifa released the entire album of the film, composed by Jakes Bejoy, with the hope that it will boost the pre-release buzz.
But unfortunately, the album is receiving mixed responses from audiences and the film’s pre-release buzz is now entirely dependent on the trailer, which is going to be released soon.
In response to this poor pre-release buzz of Khalifa, many trackers are suggesting that the makers should do proper promotions at least in the coming days. They claim that Prithviraj is already in a very tragic phase and if Khalifa also ends up as a failure, Prithviraj could lose his reputation, resulting in a huge setback for the actor.
Additionally, they point to recent speculations regarding the postponement of Dulquer Salmaan’s I’m Game, claiming that if I’m Game steps out of the Onam race, it will end up as a huge advantage for Khalifa. Therefore, they claim that with only one opponent left, Nivin Pauly’s Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, Khalifa now has huge potential to rule the Onam box office and the makers should capitalize on it with proper promotions.
Ultimately, it remains to be seen whether Khalifa will satisfy the expectations of the audience and emerge as a blockbuster success, helping Prithviraj make a solid comeback upon its release on August 20th.
