Prabhu Deva and AR Rahman are teaming up again, and their new film Moonwalk has picked the Diwali window for its release.
The film has Prabhu Deva in the lead, while Rahman will also appear on screen. It marks his acting debut, although he is not new to the film in another sense, he is composing the music for Moonwalk as well.
For fans who remember their earlier collaborations, this reunion comes after a long gap of nearly 25 years.
Moonwalk is directed by Manoj NS and the film is being made as a family entertainer. Yogi Babu is also part of the cast and is said to be playing 16 characters.
The music campaign has already started with songs such as Yethu, Tinga and Macarena. Mayile, featuring Prabhu Deva and Rahman, is the next song lined up.
The film will be released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi during Diwali 2026. That gives Moonwalk the advantage of the holiday crowd, but the festival period will also bring its share of competition.
For now, the combination of Prabhu Deva and Rahman, with Rahman appearing on screen this time is the film’s biggest talking point.
