Prabhas Turns Headache for Thalapathy Vijay: Why?

The Raja Saab Jananayagan Clash

Prabhas’s upcoming film The Raja Saab, directed by Maruthi, was initially announced for a theatrical release on December 5th, clashing with Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar. However, strong industry speculation now suggests that The Raja Saab might be delayed. If the buzz holds true, the new release date will be January 9th, aligning the film with the Pongal festival weekend, which is a prime box office window.

Interestingly, the Pongal release slot had already been claimed by Thalapathy Vijay’s film Jana Nayagan. If The Raja Saab does move to this date, it sets up a huge festival face-off between two South Indian superstars. The anticipated clash has fans and trackers buzzing, as it could reshape the Pongal 2025 movie landscape with massive box office implications.

Some industry trackers believe that Prabhas may have the upper hand in this battle due to his established pan-Indian reach and stronger fan base across North India. On the other hand, Vijay, while a massive star in Tamil Nadu and parts of South India, has less of a presence up North. Additionally, Jana Nayagan is rumored to be a remake, which has slightly reduced excitement among fans.

So far, there has been no official confirmation from the Raja Saab team about a date change. However, if the delay is announced and both films release on the same day, Pongal 2025 will witness one of the biggest box office battles in recent times between The Raja Saab and Jana Nayagan.
