After scoring three 100 crore hits with Love Today, Dragon, and Dude, Pradeep Ranganathan is now awaiting the release of his next film Love Insurance Kompany. Directed by Vignesh Shivan, the film is set for a worldwide theatrical release in February.
During the promotions of Dude, Pradeep Ranganathan had said he would take a break after LIK. He also confirmed that he has not signed new projects, as he plans to direct a film with himself in the lead role.
Amid this, strong speculation suggests that Pradeep Ranganathan has begun pre production for his next directorial venture. Reports claim the film will be a sci fi project, produced by AGS Entertainment.
There is also buzz that he is in talks with Meenakshi Chaudhary and Sreeleela to play the female leads. However, no confirmation has been made by the makers so far.
Reacting to these rumours, some feel Pradeep Ranganathan should tread carefully. They point out that he has largely built his acting career around romantic comedies and commercial entertainers. A sudden shift to science fiction may not connect easily with audiences.
On the other hand, Sreeleela’s fans are thrilled by the reports. They note that actresses like Ivana, Kayadu Lohar, and Mamitha Baiju gained major attention after appearing in Pradeep Ranganathan’s films.
Fans believe a successful collaboration could help Sreeleela strengthen her presence in Kollywood. They also point out that despite the failure of Parasakthi, she has received another opportunity in a big Tamil project, which is uncommon for non Tamil heroines.
