Suriya’s Kanguva, directed by Siruthai Siva, was released in theaters on November 14 and ended up as a colossal disaster. Yesterday, the film premiered on OTT, but the audience there too expressed overwhelmingly negative responses.
Amid this scenario, many Suriya fans on social media have been highlighting the missed opportunities in his career over the past decade, criticizing his lack of discernment in selecting scripts.

They pointed out choices like Maattrraan instead of Thuppakki, Anjaan instead of Madras, Singam 3 over Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru, NGK instead of Sarpatta Parambarai, and now Kanguva over Vanangaan. Fans believe that had Suriya chosen these missed films, he could have firmly secured a position in the top league of actors.
After the OTT release of Kanguva, comparisons with other films such as the Kannada movie Martin and Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2 surfaced on social media. People noted that while all these films involved significant effort from the teams, they failed miserably due to outdated screenplays.
