Thalapathy Vijay appears to be nearing the end of his illustrious film career as he joins to shift to politics soon, and his latest release, GOAT, directed by Venkat Prabhu, has been met with a lukewarm to disappointing response worldwide.
Among the film’s highlights was a surprise cameo by actress Trisha, who danced alongside Vijay in the song Matta.

If Trisha is not cast in Vijay’s upcoming 69th film, rumored to be his swan song before his political debut, this might be the last time this cherished duo is seen together on screen.
While not officially confirmed, reports suggest that Trisha was paid approximately Rs. 1.2 crores for her performance in Matta.

Telugu audience who saw the song compared it to Guntur Kaaram’s chartbuster song Kurchi Madathapetti. Guntur Kaaram might have failed as a film but the song was an undeniable blockbuster.
Fans say that Vijay seemed to be desperate to create a dance chartbuster like Kurchi Madathapetti with Matta but couldn’t match Mahesh’s energy or swag.

Though Trisha looked hot, the song itself couldn’t make much impact even in the film or otherwise as a standalone dance number.
After Ghilli, Pokkiri, and now Matta, Vijay once again failed to replicate the success of Mahesh Babu.
