Many social media users have pointed out that despite charging a salary in the range of ₹110-165 crore per film, Ajith’s recent releases have struggled to cross ₹250 crore in total box office collections, with a share value of only around ₹125 crore.
This has led to discussions that Ajith should consider reducing his remuneration, as a potential failure could result in significant losses for the producers.

Vidaamuyarchi is backed by Lyca Productions, which, apart from the Ponniyin Selvan franchise, has struggled to deliver profitable films in recent years. If Vidaamuyarchi also underperforms, it could be another major setback for the production house.
With just a few days left for its release, all eyes are now on whether Vidaamuyarchi can break the trend and emerge as a blockbuster success for both Ajith Kumar and Lyca Productions.
