Recently, the first look poster of Vijay Sethupathi‘s next film titled Baththa directed by Balaji Tharaneetharan, was released and is going viral on social media.
While everyone expected that Vijay Sethupathi’s next immediate release would be either his long-pending project Train directed by Mysskin or his bilingual film SlumDog: 33 Temple Road, directed by Puri Jagannadh, it surprisingly seems like Baththa will be his next release.
Earlier speculations suggested that Train would hit the screens on September 23rd, with the makers trying their best to clear the financial issues of the film soon. However, with the recently released first look, the makers of Baththa have confirmed that it will hit the screens on October 1st. Consequently, Train will most likely be postponed to a new release date.
At the same time, many people were surprised by this first look poster, as there wasn’t any buzz or prior updates about the project. Surprisingly, it seems like the Baththa team has already completed shooting for the film without any buzz.
In response to this surprising update, many Kollywood fans have already started celebrating, as Vijay Sethupathi and Balaji Tharaneetharan have previously delivered two solid films, Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom and Seethakaathi. Hence, they believe that this third film, Baththa, will also be a solid project and hope it emerges as a blockbuster success.
On the other hand, Baththa marks the return of director Atlee to the Kollywood industry as a producer. Since Atlee himself is producing it, many people feel it is a promising project, which is why he is presenting the film under his banner. Furthermore, Sai Abhyankkar is composing the music for this film and his fans are eagerly awaiting to see what he delivers for Vijay Sethupathi.
Ultimately, it remains to be seen whether this surprising project Baththa will satisfy audience expectations and emerge as a blockbuster success upon its release on October 1st.
