Unlike some of its Android competitors, Apple is opting to maintain a flat display rather than a curved one. This design choice, while aesthetically pleasing, may pose challenges, as the phone’s bezel-less appearance could lead to accidental touches when held.
To achieve the seamless display, Apple intends to integrate the camera and essential sensors beneath the screen, similar to Samsung’s approach with the Galaxy Z Fold 4. This entails overcoming obstacles in thin film encapsulation and under-panel camera technologies, both of which are critical for protecting the OLED from moisture and oxygen.
