Big Tech Summit Forgets To Include AI!

Tomorrow, more than 30 countries will visit the Bengaluru Tech Summit to demonstrate cutting edge innovations in biotechnology, electronics and information technology. The Summit takes the theme of “Breaking Boundaries” and intends to promote sharing ideas and collaborations of the global tech community.

However, one crucial aspect of technology seems to be missing from the summit agenda: artificial intelligence (AI). AI is soon going to be a part of our daily life, and it will help to improve lives, solve problems, and create openings in diverse fields. AI can aid in smart decision making, automation, medical progress, accessibility, education, entertainment etc.

However, it is rather astonishing and disheartening that the summit organizers did not have any session or panel on AI, which nowadays is a crucial matter. AI is a techno-social and ethic issue that needs cautious and responsible management. Everyone should be involved in a dialogue about AI with a focus on its positive and negative impacts, as well as its implications on the future of humankind.

The summit is therefore ignoring AI and missing out on the opportunity that the summit would provide as a showcase for India and other countries achievements as well as to learn from best practices and experiences that other countries have had. AI plays a pivotal role in innovation and growth, and this should not be excluded in discussions on global tech.
