UPI Payments Now Going Smooth At Paris!

Not more than a decade back, digital payment was an alien concept for most Indians. The economy was ruled by cash and there weren’t any alternatives if you run out of it. However, things have changed and India has not only emerged as a country performing one of the highest numbers of digital transactions but our technology for the same is being exported to countries like France as well.

The homegrown UPI is the payment interface developed and used for digital transactions using your smartphones. The simplicity of it has resulted in it becoming one of the most popular transaction methods in India. The technology has attracted many foreign countries as well and some of them have even adopted this payment method.

France became the latest country which has adopted the UPI as a payment method. India formally launched UPI at the world famous Eiffel Tower on Friday. The travelers can now make transactions at the Eiffel Tower through their UPI app.

The facility will soon be made available across all of France. NPCI is working in collaboration with Lyra, a French e-commerce and proximity payments company. The move is seen as a big boost for the Indian payment interface which is making its way in the global market.
