30 Hrs of Travel, No Help: Turkish Airlines Horror

Turkish Airlines passenger misses connection

A Turkish Airlines passenger had a distressing travel experience after missing their connecting flight from Denver to San Diego. The reason? A baggage delay that lasted more than an hour, even though the passenger had arrived on time from Istanbul.

Baggage Delay Causes Missed Flight

According to the traveller, the delay in retrieving luggage caused them to miss Alaska Airlines’ check-in cutoff for the connecting flight. By the time their bags arrived, check-in counters had already closed, leaving no option to board.

No Staff Available for Help

To make things worse, there were no Turkish Airlines or Alaska Airlines staff present at the terminal to provide assistance. All counters were empty, and the passenger was left stranded without any support or guidance.

Forced to Rebook After Long Travel

After over 30 hours of travel, the passenger had no choice but to rebook a new flight with Frontier Airlines at their own cost. They later contacted Turkish Airlines for help, only to be told that their flight had landed on time and that baggage issues were not the airline’s responsibility.

Poor Customer Service and Lack of Accountability

Subsequent complaints reportedly went unanswered, leaving the passenger feeling ignored and helpless. Other travellers on the same route also claimed to have faced similar problems, including lost or damaged luggage.

Calls for Better Coordination and Care

The incident highlights serious lapses in coordination, communication, and customer service between airlines. In this case, the passenger’s frustration seems entirely justified, and compensation from the airline appears reasonable.
