The police in the USA was once again under scrutiny when a black woman was killed by a police officer in a routine call for help. The state department has now released body cam video of the incident and it is causing an uproar on the internet. A deputy can be seen shooting down the woman with no definite threat visible.
The incident happened in the state of Illinois where a black woman called police for help. The deputy and another police officer came to the scene and checked. After checking they were talking to the woman who was apparently boiling water.
The officer considered the boiling water in her hand as a threat and pointed a gun at her. This frightened her and later the policeman shot her dead. The video has shocked everyone on the internet and people are calling out the police department for this shoot first ask later method of operation.
This has raised serious concerns in the community as those who are supposed to protect are the ones becoming the threat to the safety of people. The lack of trust in police is another reason why many people in the US prefer carrying their own weapons.
