Kamala Harris and Donald Trump have had their fair share of criticism amidst the election season. Although this is expected from the rivals, it becomes a damning indictment when your own party members are not confident in your leadership.
Over 100 ex-Republican officials released a letter on Wednesday showing their support for Kamala Harris and deemed Trump to be “unfit to serve again as President.” They accused the former President of showing sympathy to their rivals and affinity to authoritarian leaders like Putin and Xi Jinping.
The signatories included officials from the administration of former Republican Presidents, including Donald Trump himself. In addition to condemning the GOP candidate, the letter commended his rival, Harris’s commitment to freedom and democracy.
The former Republicans acknowledged that they have some differences with the Vice President’s policies but all of it “pale in comparison to Trump’s demonstrated chaotic and unethical behavior.”
As evident, Harris has garnered more mainstream Republican support in the recent weeks. She has been on an upward stride since the presidential debate where all the experts handed her a comfortable win.
Despite two assassination attempts on Trump and accusations against Democrats, there seems to be no sympathy for him. There is no doubt that Republicans are facing an uphill battle as the elections are on the horizon.
