The pro-Palestine protests at the universities across the United States have intensified and many people are comparing the scenes with the civil rights movement of 1968. Hundreds of students and professors have been arrested at the expense of brute force by the police which has been condemned all around the world. Amidst all this, Hinduism has somehow entered the scene and people are not happy about it.
There are many pro-Israel supporters as well present at the these protests and this is leading to confrontations and clashes. In a viral video, a pro Israeli supporter can be seen changing ‘Jai Shree Ram’ in front of the pro-Palestinians.
It is alleged that ‘Jai Shree Ram’ was chanted against anti-India slogans raised at the protests. This has made the situation very distorting and deviating from the actual problem. Many users on X criticized raising such religious slogans at protests which have nothing to do with the Hindus.
The center of these protests is an alleged genocide and to be associated in any form with the facilitators of it is almost an insult to the religion. It is ironic to see people from the middle east and Asia coming out in solidarity with students of the USA for their civil liberties.
