The Paris Olympics 2024 is a test for France to stand up to its romantic image that it has somehow managed to maintain thanks to movies. The reality is different and it is haunting the French government. Rampant robbery, pickpocketing and filthy streets define the modern day Paris and even though the government has deployed huge security personnels for the event, it is failing to hide the true side of the City.

On the first day of the athletes competing at the games, the international guests faced what they were not expecting. The Australian cycling team was allegedly robbed by looters and a video is circulating about the incident. A team member can be seen showing the footage of a van which was thrashed by unknown elements.
It is also claimed that one of the matches had to be canceled because of violence. It was already suspected that a situation like this could arise and yet the law enforcement agencies failed to stop them from happening. The real test is yet to come when the Israeli soccer team plays their first game.

There’s a huge protest going on against the games and the major powers of the world and they are being accused of being complicit in a genocide. The International Olympics Committee had earlier banned Russian athletes to participate under their flag while Israel is being allowed to participate even after the International Court of Justice ruling the occupation by Israel as illegal.
