Sunny Deol is going to be making his Netflix debut soon with an action-packed feature film directed by Siddharth P Malhotra. It is reportedly based on the 2007 Kevin Bacon starrer Death Sentence and adapted in Hindi by Suparn Verma.
The yet-to-be titled actioner will go on floors in July 2025 and will be released on the big screen in 2026. If sources are to be believed, Sunny is going to be paid a hefty sum for the film.

The actor, who is currently shooting for Border 2, gained praise from the audiences with the release of his last film, Gadar 2, co-starring Amisha Patel.
Sunny also has another film, Lahore: 1947 lined up. With multiple releases on the pipeline, the actor seems to be quite busy this year.

However, choosing another actioner may prove fatal for the actor. Several other senior actors like Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar have moved away from the action genre as their last few releases could not win the hearts of the audiences.
Of course, Gadar 2 was just about an okay film, but will another action drama bring the same fame to Sunny? That remains a question, especially when it’s already decided that the film will be released on Netflix.

Considering that Sunny has built a huge fan base over the years and Gadar 2 bought him to the spotlight again, he should choose his scripts carefully.
Notably, Gadar 2 collected more than Rs. 500 crores at the box office and Sunny’s latest release Jaat could hardly touch the mark of Rs. 100 crores. Now he has downgraded himself to OTT. We have to see if he can raise once again with Border 2 which is another franchise movie with nostalgic factor boosting its hype.
Moreover, Hollywood adaptations are not being accepted by the audiences nowadays and they are craving for original content. Let’s wait and see if Sunny will undergo a change in terms of his choices based on the audience’s requirement.
