Alia Bhatt is expanding her creative footprint beyond acting with another ambitious production venture. Under her banner, Eternal Sunshine Pictures, the actress has already delivered hits like Darlings and Jigra, now she’s turning to a young-adult feature for Amazon Prime Video.
The project will be directed by Sreeti Mukerji, who has worked as an assistant director on Ayan Mukerji’s Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Brahmastra. Industry buzz suggests the film will offer a Wake Up Sid-style coming-of-age story, but from a female perspective.
This marks Alia’s first feature OTT collaboration with Amazon Prime Video, following her stint as executive producer on the acclaimed crime drama series Poacher. The move underscores her growing influence as both actor and producer in the digital space.
Apart from this project, Alia is producing a screen adaptation of the novel Difficult Daughters, which will be directed by her mother, Soni Razdan. Fans are lauding her ability to juggle multiple high-profile projects both in front of and behind the camera.
On the acting front, Alia is set to appear in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War and is in talks for Maddock Films’ horror-comedy Chamunda, directed by Kalki 2898 AD fame Nag Ashwin.
