Amazon Prime Video recently announced a new show titled The Traitors. It is an Indian adaptation of the popular reality competition series which had been already made in different international languages.
The streaming platform has not confirmed a release date for now. However, well-known producer-director Karan Johar will be the host, and other details related to the contestants are currently awaited.

The normal format of the show includes 20 players who live together at a royal palace and they have to participate in different missions to win the cash bounty. A few traitors are also included in this group who need to remove the rest from the competition before being identified.
The success of the show will depend on how the makers decide to make it suitable for the Indian audience. In most cases, the formats go through a little bit of changes so that the shows can attract more viewers.

Although Karan has managed to accumulate a separate group of audience for his talk show, it is still questionable if he can do the same with The Traitors. Karan has a record of being successful as a director when he arrives after a long break. But hosting such shows is a waste of time.
Considering the bad phase of Bollywood, we need popular directors like Karan to bring a film that we can watch and enjoy together. But it seems like that is not going to happen for a long time. However, we can speculate about the show’s success only after the makers reveal more details in the upcoming months.
