Bollywood Dooms! Now Ready To Ruin Classic Cinema

Koshish-Bawarchi-MiliNow, on paper if you lack certain ideas, what will you do? You will probably try to brainstorm, hire some brilliant writers and try to create something that has never been done before. But Bollywood has a different approach to it and you are not gonna like this.

Jaadugar Films and Sameer Raj Sippy Productions have paired up to make a new take on some 70’s classics like “Mili,” “Koshish” and “Bawarchi”.

Koshish (1972) has been a Gulzar masterpiece and paid tribute to one of the Japanese classics, Happiness of Us Alone (1961). Starring Sanjeev Kumar and Jaya Bachchan, this movie collected multiple national awards for its amazing screenplay and flawless acting.

Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s creation ‘Bawarchi’ took its central idea from ‘Galpo Holeo Satti’, a Bengali classic by Tapan Sinha. Rajesh Khanna and Jaya Bachchan became the stars and enlightened various aspects of a family.

And Indian classics are incomplete without Amitabh Bachchan, Bollywood decided to ruin one of his best works, ‘Mili’. Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan made the whole nation live a romantic journey of a depressed alcoholic and a cheerful neighbour.

Remakes are a part of filmmaking, you take someone’s idea, put your magic into it and there you get a movie that has the best of both worlds. From Agneepath to Drishyam, Bollywood had its fair share of remakes but there are some movies that are too iconic to touch.

Disney has been trying to capitalise on their iconic stuff lately, trying to make new animations to live actions. And we can all agree upon the fact that all their attempts are nothing but shitty. Bollywood needs to rethink its strategy about remakes as the fans are losing their hopes.
