NTR’s Devara directed by Koratala Siva is making waves on the OTT platform, Netflix.

The film, which began streaming on November 8, quickly soared to the #1 trending position on Netflix.

However, it is receiving extremely mixed reactions from the OTT audience.

Koratala Siva is facing a lot of heat for the weak characterizations and illogical scenes. The writing was extremely poor and lazy in many scenes.

Koratala also didn’t do justice to NTR’s talent and failed to showcase him in the best way. Rajamouli highlighted peak NTR in RRR, especially in his introduction and interval scenes but that was not the case in Devara.

Cameraman Rathnavelu is being trolled for his camerawork, where NTR appears almost as a dwarf in many scenes. His framing was terrible, as it unintentionally made the hero look small while trying to broaden the canvas.

The insipid and vulgar design of Janhvi Kapoor’s role is also being slammed. Her character lacked relevance and purpose.

The production values of the NTR Arts banner are criticized for being mediocre. Fans are demanding that NTR should not work with this production house which misused NTR’s stardom and capabilities.

As expected, NTR’s performance as Vara is receiving more appreciation from the OTT audience than his portrayal of the Devara character.

Even hardcore NTR fans say that the movie lacks repeat value.

Ultimately, NTR’s performance, a few elevation scenes, Anirudh’s music, and, most importantly, the unique water setting saved Devara and made it a theatrical hit.

Overall, if Devara 2 is being planned, Koratala Siva will need huge improvement in writing and filmmaking. He got lucky this time, but that might not be the case every time.
