Anikha Surendran, who was widely appreciated as a child artist in films like Viswasam and Yennai Arindhaal, has now transitioned into lead roles. However, her journey as a heroine has not been as successful as expected.
Her latest film, Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam (NEEK), directed by Dhanush, has once again highlighted her limitations as a lead actress.
The film recently premiered on Amazon Prime Video, and since its OTT release, social media has been flooded with negative reactions to Anikha’s performance. Many viewers have pointed out that her acting lacks maturity and depth.
Several scenes from the film have gone viral for all the wrong reasons, with audiences commenting that her expressions are confusing and inconsistent. Some even noted that it is difficult to tell whether she is smiling or crying in certain emotional moments.
While NEEK itself has not received great reviews, the most brutal criticism has been directed at Anikha. Many feel she is still stuck in the child actor phase and has not evolved enough to carry a film as a heroine.
Viewers believe she lacks the screen presence and acting range required for lead roles, making her performance a major drawback for the film.
