Dhurandhar Ranks on Netflix But Viewers Spot Differences

Dhurandhar tops Netflix amid viewer reactions

Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, and Sara Arjun, has gained fresh attention after its Netflix release. The Aditya Dhar directorial has reportedly climbed to the number one position on the platform’s movie rankings despite a shaky start.

The film, which performed strongly at the box office through much of 2025, began streaming on Netflix on January 30. It quickly attracted viewers who either missed the theatrical run or wanted to experience the film again at home.

However, early reactions on Netflix were mixed. Several viewers complained about dull colour grading, low brightness, and an overall drop in visual quality. Those who watched Dhurandhar in theatres pointed out clear differences between the big screen and the digital version.

Discussions around censorship and runtime changes also resurfaced. Many highlighted the removal of a controversial Balochi dialogue involving Sanjay Dutt’s character, an edit that had already triggered criticism during the theatrical release.

Amid the backlash, reports suggest Netflix released an upgraded version of Dhurandhar with a higher bitrate of 12.56 mbps, replacing the earlier 1.79 mbps version. Viewers soon noticed sharper visuals and better colour balance.

The improved version led to positive responses online and aligned with the film’s rise to the top rank on Netflix. Dhurandhar’s OTT journey shows how viewer feedback can play a crucial role even after a major release.
