Jio Hotstar is having some massive problems in keeping up the past legacy of Disney+Hotstar and fans are irritated with some of the new features in the merger platform.
One of these features is the continuous notifications during the matches. In the last cricket match between India and Bangladesh, users were flooded with notifications of updates from ball to ball.
Users think that the notifications should have the option of being cancelled, otherwise it is not just annoying but disrespectful as well. People have complained that fhd notifications kept coming in even after dismissing them once.
Subscribers have already complained on social media about the problems of constant advertising and other glitches too.
JioCinema and Disney+Hotstar have both merged the huge audience bases from the platforms and it will be difficult to keep up competing with OTT giants like Netflix.
Jio Hotstar is trying to create a monopoly in sports streaming but it seems it is not going in the right direction. Jio Hotstar will have to improve these features to take care of the user experience of subscribers.
The first step towards that will be the cancelling of annoying notifications that put users to disgust.
