After a long wait of five years, Special Ops Season 2 is finally arriving on JioHotstar. An announcement teaser was released on May 15, 2025, and the sequences have hinted that audiences can prepare themselves for a thrilling ride on the small screen.
The teaser starts with the introduction of RAW member Himmat Singh, followed by multiple shots where we get to see some amazing action sequences, a chopper landing somewhere, and an explosion happening in the middle of the ocean.

While the makers have not disclosed anything on who will be the new characters on the upcoming season, we still get to witness the glimpses of some of them, including Tahir Raj Bhasin, Prakash Raj, Parmeet Sethi, and Karan Tacker.
Notably, Season 1 was released a long time ago and became a huge success on OTT. The show was praised for its direction by Neeraj Pandey and the screenplay that kept the audience engaged until the end.

Although a second season was not confirmed by the producers at the time, a spin-off titled Special Ops 1.5: The Himmat Story was released in 2021, and it focused on the backstory of Himmat Singh, played by Kay Kay Menon.
The release date of Season 2 is not confirmed yet. Since it was a teaser of only 30 seconds and featured the things that would be featured in the new installment, it is hard to say if it will receive a better response compared to Season 1.

However, with Neeraj Pandey’s involvement and his expertise in the genre of spy-thrillers, Special Ops Season 2 should turn out to be an entertaining experience for all the viewers of JioHotstar. Let’s wait for the trailer and other updates.
