The much-anticipated OTT release of Kanguva, starring Suriya, Disha Patani, and Bobby Deol, has stirred disappointment among the OTT audience following its terrible performance at the box office.

Premiering on Amazon Prime Video on December 8, the film was expected to be a blockbuster in theaters but instead garnered extremely negative reviews and failed to meet financial expectations.

Released theatrically on November 14, Kanguva was initially met with high hopes due to its grand visuals and star-studded cast.

However, it struggled to capture audience interest, earning only 95 crore gross against a production budget of 350 crore.

Kanguva started streaming in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada, but the Hindi version was not released, maybe to abide by the 8-week theatrical window before the OTT release.

Now, the latest reports suggest that a 12-minute trimmed version is streaming on Amazon Prime.

It seems the makers were concerned about the trolling the film would invite once it started streaming on OTT, so they cut many scenes, including the Yolo song, Francis’s search for Bounty Jithu, several Angelina scenes, Kovai Sarala & Anirudh’s father scene, the boys’ scene, the Moye Moye scene, Yogi Babu’s cringe dialogue in the café, and Tom & Jerry playing on TV.

But still, the audience feels many scenes are still in the film that would be mocked and ridiculed in the coming days as more people would watch it.

As of now, the reactions on social media after the OTT release have been overwhelmingly negative, with many giving it 0 stars out of 5. In the coming days, more trolling and mocking of the film are expected.

It might be best for Suriya to forget the Kanguva disaster as soon as possible and move on to better projects.
