Kanguva’s OTT release is scheduled to occur only after 8 weeks of its theatrical release, which is unlike any other major Tamil films.
National multiplex chains like INOX, PVR, and others have released the Hindi-dubbed version of Kanguva only because the makers agreed to this 8-week window clause.

Reportedly, Amazon Prime Video has paid a massive Rs. 100 crore for Kanguva’s OTT rights. The tentative OTT release date for Kanguva is January 10, during Sankranthi.
However, the negative reactions to the film by the theatrical audience have raised doubts about whether the film will be able to run for more than a week.
Whether the makers will keep their promise of an 8-week gap between the theatrical and OTT release now seems doubtful.
